THE PROCESS OF RANDOM SAMPLING

Step one in sampling is to define the population precisely-- the group of people to whom you want to generalize your results.
Example: "NJIT students"
Then construct a "sampling frame"-- a list or data base of names, addresses, or other ID's, which is equal to the population.
