Each student will choose a particular analytical problem or technique and write a paper on it. You should use some primary technical literature in addition to web information or book compilations. Typical problems might be: analysis of wastewaters for volatile organic compounds, or methods for speciation of metal ions in sediments. Papers should be about 10 - 15 pages in length, typed, and properly referenced. In the last few weeks of class each student will present this project to the class, and the other members are expected to listen carefully and pose questions.
Before starting the paper, write a sentence or two about the topic you wish to research, and submit it for approval before starting work. These are due in Week 4.
