Welcome to ENG 620: Proposal Writing Online.  This course will operate in two venues: as on-line discussions within NJIT's EIES system, and as regular e-mail exchanges. The course syllabus can be accessed either by hitting your 'back' button or by going to http://eies.njit.edu/~kimmelma/eng620.htm. Since we will be conducting our group discussions in EIES, you will need to have an EIES account and also to be enrolled in this class’s conference. To get an EIES account, go to http://directory.njit.edu/~accts/cgi-bin/new. Once you have an EIES account—or if you already have an EIES account—please contact me at kimmelma@eies.njit.edu and, when you do, be sure to tell me what your EIES eddress is so I can add you to the class  list of conferees (otherwise you will not be able to send or receive comments or other texts via EIES). I need to mention at this juncture that you should contact me in general at kimmelman@njit.edu and NOT at the above eies eddress.

During the semester, please log on to the EIES conferencing system by going to http://vc.njit.edu and, once you have logged in, by signing into the conference titled Eng 620, Sp 00 (the conference number is 14979.3). You should sign in at least three times a week and respond to the comments and questions that your classmates have posed. If you are not familiar with EIES, then you may wish to go to NJIT’s Computing Services Division homepage for help: www.njit.edu/csd and/or telephone 973-596-2900 (NJIT's Computing Help Desk).
